Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), also known as the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, is the Islamic authority in charge of Muslim affairs in Singapore. Muis advises the President of Singapore on all matters relating to Islam in Singapore. Among other things, Muis provides Halal certification services and regulates the Singapore Halal industry. Under the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA), Muis is vested with the sole legal powers to issue Halal certificates in Singapore. The role of Muis is to see that the many and varied interests of the Muslim community of Singapore are looked after. Among the principal functions of Muis are: administration of Zakat, Wakaf (endowment), pilgrimage affairs, Halal certification and other activities related to the socio-religious life of Muslims in Singapore; construction, development, administration and management of mosques; development and administration of Islamic education and Madrasah; and issuance of religious guidance to the community.

International Halal Center (IHC) is officially accredited and recognised by MUIS Singapore. Certificate of Recognition No. MFCB26100001 was issued to International Halal Center GmbH (Germany office) and is valid from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2029. MUIS accepts the certificate of the IHC European certifier for every European country. This recognition therefore covers all European countries, including the countries in which IHC maintains an office: Germany, France, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Ireland, Scandinavia, the USA and Italy.
